P. Manfred Rauh took on the parish in the capital of the province, Independencia. Besides the conventional spiritual welfare a kindergarten and a house for open youth work were established. They were followed by a boarding school for boys and girls. In a centre for further education classes were held in catechism, agriculture, female emancipation and against illiteracy. In 1983 P. Manfredo moved to Cochabamba and built up CADECA, the educational centre for rural catechists of the archbishopric of Cochabamba. Some years later a small boarding school was added, where young men can make up the school-leaving exam which entitles them to a university education.
